VR Internship

Many young people find it difficult to choose a career, as there is a large selection and the opportunities for taster apprenticeships are limited. The City of Zurich, which trains apprentices in various professional fields, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem: Virtual Internships.

Using 180° camera technology, we have documented the everyday life of apprentices and prepared the content interactively for virtual reality. This allows young people to immerse themselves up close in these professions and tackle challenges and mini-games.

So far, we have created eight VR internships – and more are planned. Not only young people benefit from this initiative, but also teachers: They receive more information about professions and organizations as well as more flexible taster opportunities at training companies. Companies and organisation can use the virtual taster apprenticeships to counteract the shortage of skilled workers and give more weight to marginal professions.
